Brickfinity fll 2018-19

This bot was made directly from the instructions that came with EV3 kit. Advantages: Simple constructions Brick accessibility is excellent Disadvantage: Adding and removing attachment is not easy. Wire management is not good, they may interfere with mission models. Color sensor cannot be shielded from ambient light.  Not much stability because of one single caster wheel. Cannot use wall to line up.

Advantages: All Sensors ports are accessible, so that we can reset Gyro by unplugging cable. PC connection port is easily be reached. Battery Recharge port can be used easily. Disconnecting brick is easy, if we need to replace batteries or when brick is frozen. Color sensors are in front of the motor, so line following is easy with any angle. Uses few parts. It uses caster wheels , so it can turn in any direction without scraping the wheels.  Disadvantages: Caster wheels stop it from climbing over obstacles . There is only 1 motor connected to all the gears , so if there is  more than 1 attachment on the robot at a time , they will run simultaneously. There is not much clearance underneath the chassis.

Advantages: Clearance / space underneath the bot makes it easy to go over obstacles. 2 Medium motor that allows 2 separate attachments to work independently. There are 4 places to attach attachments.  Motors are in the right direction, so when rotating the motor forward, the robot moves forward. Disadvantages Color sensors are behind the driver wheels, so it is hard to follow a line with slight turns. Back wheels scrape when turning. Battery recharge port is not accessible. Sensor Ports are not accessible, like when we want to unplug wire when Gyro sensor is drifting. PC port is not accessible, so only way to connect brick to computer is via bluetooth and wifi.

Over the course of our meetings, we have done multiple team building activities that have taught us the importance of working together as a team. The first activity was Astronaut and mission control.  This mission was a reenactment of the Apolo 13 carbon dioxide filter problem.  What we had to do was split ourselves into two teams, one team was the astronauts, while the other was mission control.  the"astronauts" had to go in a separate room and mission control built a Co2 filter and described it to the Astronauts using words.  This taught me the importance of communication and patience.  The core values we used were fun, innovation and inclusion. The second Activity we did was to pick an item out of a box and with our teammates, make an"ad" and try to persuade the coaches to buy this item.  the core values we used were fun, inclusion and innovation. Astronaut and Mission Control: I enjoyed doing this activity with my teammates as it was the first activity that we did together and it served as an ice breaker for us. I learned how to communicate effectively so that others understand what I am trying to tell them. I discovered that it was hard to communicate without each team member knowing what each piece is called. It required a lot of teamwork as there were two teammates working as Astronauts and Mission Control. (Fun, Impact, Discovery, Teamwork) Pull item from box and present: This activity helped with inclusion as I had to take everybody's opinion into account before presenting. Hi! Agent Unicorn here, telling the world how we used core values in one of our group activities. The activity was that we had to do was rank a list of items that we needed to survive in space. We used all 6 of the core values. The first core value is Discovery-we used this core value by learning the vital items required in space. Next, is innovation and impact. We thought of creative ways to use the items provided and how it might affect the answers. We worked together as a team, and we had FUN!!!!!!!!
